View All Arts & Music

The Gallery by the Lake is a nonprofit studio, gallery and arts education center established in 1984 and run by the Associated Louisiana Artists (ALA). Located on the east side of Lake Charles, the expansive gallery holds the works of its member-artists. Many different types of art are represented including painting, photography, ceramics and mixed media, with regularly changing exhibits.

The facility also hosts the ALA Creative Arts Center, where professional artists from the region and around the country help emerging artists hone their skills. The Center also has a protégé program that links budding artists with established professionals for one-on-one mentoring.

The mission of the facility is to bring original art to the Lake Charles area. Member-artists have supported numerous local nonprofit organizations by teaching classes, painting backdrops for theater events and donating works of art for raffles and silent auctions.
