View All Arts & Music

Art duLac – “art of the lake” – is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping contemporary fine artists in Southwest Louisiana present their work to a broader audience by hosting temporary art installations in cafés, commercial establishments and public spaces in downtown Lake Charles. Featuring the work of different Art duLac artists, exhibitions include paintings and photography. Ultimately, Art duLac seeks to build exposure for regional artists and expand opportunities for Southwest Louisiana residents to view, enjoy and learn about fine art.

Shows are typically held in venues along Ryan Street, a major downtown Lake Charles thoroughfare and the site for many civic and cultural events. In conjunction with its installations, Art duLac incorporates lighthearted entertainment in the form of the educational comedy series, “Articulating Art.” The discussions feature an art historian who demystifies the process of analyzing art while examining the different forms and styles found in the works on display.
