More than 75 festivals take place each year in the Lake Charles area alone, where festival goers can dress like pirates, peruse arts and crafts displays, race and build boats and enjoy an extensive selection of southern cuisine and music. Southwest Louisiana’s Creole Nature Trail, a 180-mile scenic byway that received an All-American Road designation, attracts more than 200,000 visitors each year.
